Brussels diaries: My minimalistic room

Hello, amazing people!

Today I'm moving back to Palermo. Actually, I'm writing these words in the airport, enjoying my last Leffe Blond and waiting for boarding.

Am I sad? No.
Am I ready to go back to my beautiful Sicily? Yes.
Am I going to miss Brussels? Oh, hell, yes!

It was a great time - I managed to accomplish many amazing things, travelled a lot and was very productive. And even though I'm pretty sure I will come back to Brussels many more times, I want to remember and honour this page in my life.

FB

So by clicking on the video below you can watch my room tour. I moved to Brussels with 2 suitcases and brought things for two different seasons and a smart casual dress code. And I was very happy with how my room turned out - I didn't invest in any decorations and opted for functionality and simplicity, and it really worked for me. So without further ado - please, watch, like, share and subscribe!

My gate was just announced. What is waiting for me on the other side of the plane flight? A wonderful new chapter of life, a new flat, new projects, my loved ones and a beautiful Sicilian winter.

Stay tuned and thank you for your attention and kind thoughts! See you!

#45daysofblogging 23: youtube recs - LightbyCoco

Day 23 - September 9

And we arrived to the blogging day 23, which marks the middle of the whole #45daysofblogging extravaganza.

Monthly-favorites

As the second youtube rec in the series I’d love to recommend the channel called LightbyCoco. And the reason I like it so much is because it really lived up to its name. It is really about living light and simple. I really admire Coco’s style, aesthetics and her approach to life. I love that she loves to travel (and does it light) and having an active life style. I really love her packing guides and all the philosophy behind it.

#45daysofblogging 22: starting with minimalism

Day 22 - September 8

Today I want to speak about minimalism and some ideas that helped me in the beginning.

Before moving to Thailand I used to hit the thrift stores a few times every week. I had a huge collection of dresses, lots of hobby supplies that I never used and a ton of mementoes that were basically pushing out of my living space. After a few years and three moves between countries I got pretty comfortable of having a limited amount of clothes and things in general. And here are some of the things I’ve realized along the way.

- Clothes are just clothes
Might not sound like a huge revelation, but to me it was. Last year, when I had to leave Palermo and everything and everyone I love here (without any guarantees that I will ever come back), I was packing my suitcase and couldn’t care less about all the tees and skirts. If at that moment somebody told me: “Let me burn all of your things and you get to stay for as long as want”, I’d say: “Let me bring you matches!”

#45daysofblogging 02: using the best things you have

Day 2 - August 19

Welcome to the chatty day 2!

Today’s post was supposed to be dedicated to the one-day trip to Helsingborg that I’ve mentioned yesterday. But this morning, as I was making my breakfast, an unopened pack of coffee made me think about another topic I really want to address. So there’s a slight change of plans (I promise, I will explain the coffee later).

Using-the-best-things

As my blog is dedicated not only to travels or fashion, I’ve wrote quite a few pieces on minimalism before. To me using your best things is one of the key ideas of minimalism and happier life.

Thank you, Thailand!

Facebook memories reminded me that right about this time three years ago I moved to Chiang Mai and was in the process of adapting to my new life - trying out new food, discovering the city on a rented pink bicycle and having mango shakes for breakfast.

When I think about that period of my life, I feel so many mixed emotions. It was one of the craziest experiences ever, and I have to be honest - it didn't go that smoothly in the beginning. Moving to another part of the world all on your own is not easy sometimes, especially if you're moving with lots of hopes, dreams and fears.

That's why I'm writing this post to say thank you to this amazing country. Thank you, Thailand!

Thank you for being so beautiful, happy and welcoming!
