TV-style - Joan Watson

I really love "Elementary" and I'm incredibly impressed by Joan's wardrobe.

She has an amazing style - it's feminine, interesting and beautifly casual at the same time. She wears lots of darks and neutrals, but the combinations are really pretty and stylish. Also she layers a lot, and her outfits are both comfortable and fashionable. This is the style of a confidents and strong woman - she has no desire to follow every trend, she already knows who she is and what she likes.

Here are some of my favorite Joan's outfits.

Also a really pretty top. The outfit is very simple, but it looks interesting and structured.

She also wears lots of cute hats.

I love the fact that it's not a plais shirt, but a plain t-shirt. Looks so much more interesting and unusual.

Love the coat so much! It'll never work on my body type, but Joan rocks it.

Uber cute) Grey, black and brown would've look bland, but the floral accent makes everything so much prettier.

I don't think anyone knows that about me, but I'm a huge fan of UK TV. Doctor Who, Sherlock, Skins, Misfits, Being Human (I've even translated the whole Season 3 for Ukrainian TV) - you name it. And, of course, Torchwood, one of my biggest TV loves.
Even now, when the cast changed so much and the Torchwood Institute had to relocate from Wales to US, I still enjoy this show a lot. I have such a girl crush on Jilly - classic PR shark, who wants only money and power even in the time of crisis. Her character is a bit grotesque and caricature-ish, but, working in PR and show-biz, I've met lots and lots of such people. So kudos to RTD and other screen-writers, they've managed to create a very interesting character. Again)
But the biggest amount of love goes to wardrobe department. Honestly, she can look a bit over the top, but I still like it. A redhead with red lipstick on, who's wearing only bright red, yellow or green - isn't it just great? Such an interesting approach - she looks amazing among people who's wearing mostly black, grey or beige.

I'm actually thinking about adding one more weekly posting feature and TV inspirations seems like a nice idea. I know my TV-shows) Please. let me know, If you'll be interested in reading it)

Джиллі Кітзінджер.

Думаю, мало хто про це знає, але я дуже люблю британські серіали. Доктор Хто, Шерлок, Скінз, Місфітс, Бути Людиною (я навіть перекладала весь третій сезон для українського телебачення) - я люблю їх усі. І, звісно, Торчвуд - моя величезна ТВ-любов.

Навіть зараз, коли акторський склад так сильно змінився, а Інститут Торчвуд мав переїхати з Уельсу до Америки, я все одно дуже люблю цей серіал. І дуже люблю Джиллі - класичну акулу PR, що навіть у такі страшні часи прагне лише грошей та влади. Її персонаж може здаватися трохи гротексним та карикатурним, але я, працюючи у PR та шоу-бізнесі, на жаль зустрічала дуже багато таких Джиллі. Тому респект РТД та іншим сценаристам - їм знову вдалося створити дуже цікавий персонаж)

Але мої герої - це люди, що відповідають за гардероб. Серйозно, вона може мати трохи вульгарний вигляд, але мені все одно все подобається. Руде волосся, червона помада, і при цьому вона завжди вдягнена у червоний, чи жовтий, чи зелений - хіба не клас? По-моєму, ідея просто чудова - вона вигідно відрізняєтсья від інших персонажів, що вдягнені здебіьшого у щось чорне, сіре чи бежеве.

Я власне зараз саме думаю про те, аби додати ще одну щотижневу рубрику, і цікаві ідеї з ТВ-серіалів здаються цілком непоганою темою. На серіалах я добре знаюся. Напишіть, якщо вам цікаво буде про це читати)

'Pan Am' trailer

I swear, this show was picked up to cheer me up))) I have so much work this days, because I really need some extra cash for my upcoming trip (8 more days, yay))) To make it all even worse - yesterday I've triped and injured one toe on my right foot. It's not that bad, but I'm still limping and banned from alll of my nice shoes(((

So, its a great news for me, while I'm tired, broken and shoeless (life in sneakers, ughh).

Can't wait till I'll be able to watch it. I've already informed both of the studios I freelance for that this show is mine to translate)))

So why there was no crafts night?

Because we got lazy! I was half dead from all the translations, girls were pretty much in the same state because of their jobs. So we cooked some yummy-yummy mushroom ravioli with tomato sauce and parmesan, opened a bottle of pink wine and listened to Sasha's stories about her and her boyfriend's rescent trip to Budapest-Milan-Geneva-Venezia-some other cities. Than we got our presents from her trip:

 

There're mine: small jewelry box with Raphael's angels (I have the umbrella with this print and when it's raining I always feel like I'm in Dresden's Gallery, in front of The Sistine Madonna), two rings, Hello Kitty (and polka dots, again) socks, few magnets and venezian mask earings.

I love this little cute things so much!

BTW, to finish the story with polka dots - I've ordered a pair of black and white polka dot rain boots today.

And then, after delicious dinner, we started our Pushing Daisies marathon. I adore this show! All the colors, aestetic, great humor and dialogues. And this amazing dresses. TV can't get better than Brian Fuller's TV-shows.

Being Erica

I adore this show. It's beautiful, therapeutic and warm as a cup of tea, woolen socks and a hand-made blanket on autumn evening. I really like it a lot since the first episode. And I love Erin Karpluk, she's a sweetheart (and I'm really proud to be of the same descent as she is).
