Before I left Kyiv, I had a chance to go to one of our work parties. It was one the most crazy ones - we had one of the rooms completely redecorated (as you can see)) and everyone was dressed in country style (or something close to it)

Disco New Year party

If you've been reading this blog for a while, you know that in my office we always have themed parties.
This year the theme of our NY party was 80th disco.

As you may know, I'm Ukrainian and also an Orthodox Christian (I'm not very religious though). So we celebrate Christmas on January 7th. This is what I wore this year for a nice evening with my friends before heading home to spend some time with my family.

I'm wearing:

Dress - thrifted, some Asian brand I can't find in Internet (love the dress though)

Cobalt blue sweater - Oggi

Boots - no brand

Belt - B.P.C.

Venetian glass earrings and bracelet - present from my mom, one of the first jewelry items she ever made

Ring - present from Venice (it wasn't intentional, I swear)))

Coat - H&M

Bag - Orsay (way too similar to Alexander McQueen's Rocco Duffel bag for it to be a coincidence, but what the hell, I love it. And I can't affordMcQueen))))

As an event planner I'm attending lots of parties - both as a guest and as a planner. This one had mafia theme, and it was really fun. I love watching other people genuinely enjoying the parties we've planned for them))

Hat - borrowed from the host of the evening (he works with us on lots of parties, so we're cool)))

{holiday time outfit post - Snow White}

We've had a holiday party at work (well, actually we've had it at the country club). The theme was movie and cartoon heroes, so I've decided I just have to be Snow White. Ever since I've cut my hair everyone is telling me that I look like Disney Snow White (and also I have a mug with her picture). My favorite Disney pricess is Jasmin, but that was out of the question - nether hair no abs to pull her costume off))
I thought about renting the costume, but then decided that it'stoo easy and no fun. So I've paid something like 1.5 dollars for my costume and still am really happy about it.

My costume consisted of:

Thrifted vitage dress - actually, one of the first itenms I ever thrifted.
My mom's petticoat - to add some volume to the dress bottom
Thrifted M&S slip
My mom's red belt (my mom is a very stylish woman)))
Polka dotted balerinas - Blink, I've bought them for the whole summer
Cherry earrings - made by my mom ages ago
Red bows for shoes - bought at the decorations shop
Big red bow - I've made it from some ribbons.

I'm pretty happy with how my costume turned out. I loved being a 60-s inspired Snow White)))

The party was a huge success (I was the one of the two planners, so I'm pretty happy with it). We've had so many great costumes! Doctor House, Batman, Darth Veider, Tinker Bell, Lilu from the Fifth Element, Desperado, even Uncle Sam)). Also a few twins - two Cruellas, two Legally Blondes, two Pippy Longstockings, lots and lots of pirats)))

Ethnic festival Art-Pole (Unizh, 2011) - day 1 + an outfit

Finally a spare minute to post pictures from festival's first day. We've been there for only 3 days (most of the people spent whole 6 days), but it still was amazing. Great place, beautiful nature, nice people, good music. It took place in Carpathian mountains, in western part of Ukraine, on Dniester river, near cute little village called Unizh.

No doubt I'll hurt my feelings

When I was growing up I used to think that the definition of a truly happy person is not having any self-doubt. Never. Now I know better. I'm 26 and I still doubt myself in every possible way. That doesn't mean that I'm not happy though...

So many of my dearest friends are living very far from me. I have besties in London, Warshaw, Vilnius, Amsterdam, Moskow, Saint Petersburg. Sabine is one of them, a great friend, whom I see only for a few days a year.

These pictures were taken in our favorite Italian restaurant on Christmas Eve (right before I went home to celebrate with my family). There was a night of a very odd light, that's why everyone looks pale and exhausted on every picture (we totally weren't exhausted))

I'm having the weirdest week, full of work (too many movies to translate), classes amd studio practice (still haven't written a descent text to read in the studio on week-end), my friend's defence of a thesis, so long, so long.

That's why I haven't written fasion inspirations of anything else this week. Sorry, I hope I'll catch up with everything later.

2010 in pictures

It was a good, bad, great, hard, awesome and disasterous year, for which I'm still gratefull.

March 2010 - was taken at the street art show "The Square of Angels", the opening of the French Spring in Kyiv.

Prohibition era party

As I already wrote, my friend Mila and her students were making this beautifully themed party for a long time - auditioning the members of jazz-band from their faculty, rehearsing (she was singing with them) and all that jazz (sorry, I had to say that))))
