Handmade fair

I'm preparing my 'flower buttons' for the handmade fair which starts this Wednesday. As I'm working full time now, I can't be present at the fair myself, so my friends are graciously offered to sell my jewelry for me (I love my friends).

Here's a small part of what I'm presenting at the fair. There's still a big package of jewelry my mom made and a few of my painted bottles. But right now I'm working on these crochet goodies while watching Iron Chef Uk. And I'm basically feel like an Iron Chef - I have so much going on at the same time! Painting the buttons (yes, I'm painting the buttons which are going on top of some brooches), crocheting earings, putting brooches together while also working on the stand project... Insane. But so cool.

I'm feeling a bit down now, I can't even explain why. Lot's of work (and I'm so not happy about it - yes, it's paying the bills, but I've never intended to become a translator and never enjoyed it too much), broken laptop (it's been broken for a while, but the guy who's usually taking care about it is still traveling somewhere), broken PC monitor (now I have use my mom's acient monitor that's randomly changing colors - my eyes are not pleased). Plus I'm sleepy all the time. I think I need some pomegranates or some pomegranate juice - it always gives me energy and hepls me not to brood about such random and uncatastrofic thing like broken laptop and actually having enough work to pay the bills.

I'm still waiting for Ira to send me all the pictures from holidays, so I don't have anything to post except for this one:

But you can see some of acessories I'm making for sale - crochet earings and the ring. I've been in love with this color lately.

Red lipstick and the "Central Perk"

There's a awesome new coffee-shop in Kyiv! The fans of "FRIENDS" have opened the Friends-themed cafe and it's an amazing place to spend a nice winter evening. It's really cosy and cute, has it's unique atmosphere and you can enjoy delicious sandwiches and coffee for a very reasonable price.

The funniest part - neither me nor any of my friends from Kyiv knew about it, until Dasha (who's actually Russian and lives in Moskow) came to visit and told us about it.

As I already wrote, my friend Mila and her students were making this beautifully themed party for a long time - auditioning the members of jazz-band from their faculty, rehearsing (she was singing with them) and all that jazz (sorry, I had to say that))))

Ready for winter)

First snow melted very quickly, but today I woke up and saw that everything is white once again.

Few weeks ago I was going through my stuff, cleaning the wadrobe, and decided to make some sort of a scarf catalogue)) There're not all the stuff I own, but what I tend to wear often.

DIY - What to do with an old scarf?

Well, technically it wasn't a scarf, more of a pareo. I took it with me to the beach for many years, but this tradition sadly was ended this summer. Me and my friends went to the sea for the music festival and few days of camping, and one day I put my sunny pareo in the same pocket of my backpack as the hairbrush. And hairbrush won. Pareo was destroyed and had a lot of holes in it.

Book hour - A Timely Vision

I finished reading a wonderful book today. It's called "A Timely Vision" and it's a detective story with a little bit of mystic flair. I'm very glad that my friend recomended it to me, I loved it. And after finishing the book I found out that it's gonna be a book series! So I'm pretty happy about it.

Fashion inspiration - chunky fingerless gloves

I love this folks)) And their gloves are pretty amazing, I want to make a pair for myself. Minus the werewolf hair of course)))

Autumn is LOVE

I love autumn more than any other season, and it always was this way. I was born in October, and I've always loved the feel of autumn - the air is clearer, the weather is milder than in summer, you can experiment with clothes, layers, crarfs, gloves, boots, tigh-high socks and so long.

And I especially thankful to this wonderful season for such a creative mood. Everything I do - knitting, writing, painting - seems much more delicious in autumn.

There're some things that are making me happy this September:

- pumpkin earings, made by my mom. She's actually an author of almost all of my jewelry - she has a real talent for such things

- candles. I live candle light and little lighs I have over my bad. It's a real magic and beauty.

- silver. I've never been a fan of gold or any other kind of yellow metal, but I adore silver (and reading, BTW))) It's a coincidence, but good books are always a part of my autumn. And I love this postcard (it was a gift from the Modern Art museum)

- cherry syrup, made by my dad. My relationships with him were pretty hard during the years, but now we're on a pretty good spot. And he really makes an amazing cherry syrup. I've painted this jar of syrup and gave it to my friend Sasha, but I still have plenty in my kitchen)

- cross-stitching and embroidery. Not doing much of this lately, just this pillowcase. This pattern is originally from a book of celtic patterns, and brown&turquoise is my favorite color combination. This pictures were made last month, I've finished the cross-stitching part by now. But haven't got to crocheting part yet))

- knitting and crochet. Yeah, maybe It's making me a granny at the age of 25 years, but I do think that it's cool and hip))) And I always have the best scarfs and gloves, even if I'm on a really tight budget)

There's one of two of my blanket-projects, BTW. Love how it looks, but I still have a lot of work to do on this one))

Some crocheting news

My best friend is having a birthday party this weekend. It's gonna be vampire-themed, so I'm thinking about my outfit for a few days now (gonna be a goth vampire, I guess. It's either this or I'd have to go to the party dressed as vampire dessert - in a frilly pink dress or something like that, channeling Sookie from True Blood. Well, ok, I'll deal with this.

I started making present for her some time ago and this is the part of it.

Four brown and turquoise trivets for plates, cups or jars. It's made of syntetic yarn - totally not my favorite, but it's quiet firm and perfect for putting plates on it))

My friend and her boyfriend just moved to their own new apartment and I guess they will appreciate some house-warming gifts.

Pictures are not really good (well, not good at all, the light in my appartment is tricky in the morning)). I also work on two scarfs now - one is orange-turquoise and it is an experiment (it has a very interesting form, i hope it'll turn out pretty) and a grey woolen sircle scarf.

Frankenstein's pillow

Finally finished this crochet pillow-case. I like to call it "Frankenstein's monster", because I've made it from all the leftovers I could find both in my place, and in all of my friends's appartments.
