YouTube recs - Jade Vanriel

Hey, guys! 

I haven't done this type of posts since my #45daysofblogging self-imposed, totally crazy and exhausting challenge.

Why? I don't know, but it doesn't mean that I didn't get any new favourite people on YouTube. I just didn't have that much time for blogging and too much of my own content to share with you when I actually had a free minute.

Today I want to recommend you to check out a very inspiring and beautiful channel I tend to go back to when I'm feeling a bit down or unmotivated.

Jade has recently bought her first home and makes a lot of videos about different questions regarding property, saving and following your dreams, as well as fashion and lifestyle videos.

Day 40 - September 26

One more rec, the last one for a bit.

This youtuber's name is Lizzy Hadfield - she has a blog and a very nice channel, and I'm absolutely love her weekly vlogs. For some reason they always inspire me to be more organised and creative and also to organize my work better to enjoy free time with the clean conscience.

Also she has a great sense of style and I love watching her street style videos too. So big recs from me - go check out her channel!)

Day 35 - September 21

One more youtube rec, just because I really grown to like LilyLikecom channel lately.

This youtuber's name is Lily, she lives in The Netherlands and studies law in the University of Groningen. I love this channel for motivating me to do great things, to study more, to be focused and also not to forget to do fun stuff along the way. I love her Law School Vlogs a lot, and if you are in a need of a motivation, check them out!)

#45daysofblogging 29: youtube recs - Elle Florence

Day 29 - September 15

Don't worry, I don't plan to do many posts like this - mostly because there are not that many channels I like enough to recommend them.

But today I want to recommend you to check out Elle Florence's videos, just because I've grown to like them so much.

To tell you the truth, it took me some time, for various reasons (one of them being that I'm more interested in simplifying my life even more, so I don't really like or watch "collection videos"). But then I just got addicted! I really love her sense of humor, way of life and the philosophy of treating yourself with a lot of respect. And I cannot wait till this year's vlogmas, just because those are the coziest and loveliest videos I've ever watched.

#45daysofblogging 23: youtube recs - LightbyCoco

Day 23 - September 9

And we arrived to the blogging day 23, which marks the middle of the whole #45daysofblogging extravaganza. 

As the second youtube rec in the series I’d love to recommend the channel called LightbyCoco. And the reason I like it so much is because it really lived up to its name. It is really about living light and simple. I really admire Coco’s style, aesthetics and her approach to life. I love that she loves to travel (and does it light) and having an active life style. I really love her packing guides and all the philosophy behind it. 

Living in times of change

*UPD*: Unfortunately, I had to edit this post delete all the nice things I have written before about one of the YouTubers who participated in BlackLifeMatters protests. I just can't keep a rec for a channel, whose creator things that it's acceptable to fight discrimination with discrimination and bash Eastern European women on numerous occasions. I never supported discrimination and will not support it now. I'm absolutely disgusted by the whole situation and don't want to have her name on my blog. 

In my country people love to quote an old Chinese curse: “May you live in interesting times (times of change)”, even though, as far as I know, it’s highly unproven that a Chinese curse like this ever existed. In any case - I never agreed with this. 

We live in times of change and we need to appreciate it. We can see the history being made and can even help make it. For example, I’ve participated in two revolutions and, as horrible, tragic and difficult as it was, I’m happy I got to see everything with my own eyes. To be one of the people that change history is a huge honour and a huge responsibility. But also it’s in some way a blessing, as all your experiences and opinions are your own. 

As I love authenticity in everything, I don’t believe in sterile blogging, separated from real life and serious topics. It will never work for me – I’m a human rights activist, I volunteer a lot and work in the social field, I’m doing my PhD research on domestic violence and it’s a huge part of my life. So, as the result, it is also a huge part of my blogging life too.

* I’m not going to go into details on my experience of blogging during the revolution – for many reasons it was not a nice experience. Let's just say that I had reasons to delete my old posts when I moved my blog to this address. Maybe once I will dedicate a post to it, but for now, I still remember it all too well (including quite ugly comments and accusations I received while describing my life at that time).
