How I wear my: Sunglasses

The loveliest Jill from Everything Just So and Adrienne from The Rich Life (on a budget) were so kind to feature me in their monthly round up "How I wear my...".

This are my favorite sunglasses and also my favorite place in Bangkok - Vertigo bar on top of the Banyan Tree skyscraper (Lumpini MRT station). The views of the sunset over Bangkok and of the night Bangkok are absolutely gorgeous!

Pai

Pai is a small, but amazing village in the mountains of Nothern Thailand. It's one of the favorite destinations for people who live in Chiang Mai and also for tourists. People say that you can come there for three days and stay for three month.

Now I can confirm that it's true. The village is tiny, just a few streets, but it has a happy relaxed atmosphere that you just want to stay longer. The food is great, the accomodations are good and rather cheap, the nature is amazing!

To get to Pai you need to take a minibus from the second terminal of Arcade bus station in Chiang Mai. It'll cost 150 baht. The road is taking about three hours and has 762 (!) turns on mountain roads, so the motion sickness pills can be very usefull.

How I wear my: Florals

As you know, I don't have all that many dresses and skirts with me, but this one is my favorite item of clothing right now. I wear it with different tops when I have a date, a night out, a chance to go on some interesting party. Simple, easy and versatile, just how I like it.

Lao P.D.R.

In the end of April my friend and I went to Laos to get new Thai visas. It was too early for me, but I wanted to see Vientianeand also I had no desire to pay 2000 THB for extending my visa for a month, when I can pay the same amount for money for a new visa that can help me to stay in Thailand for 4 month without any extra pay.

So we went to Laos. I haven’t seen much of the country, only it’s capital, Vientiane. One of my new friends here, in Chiang Mai, told me, that Vientianeis her least favorite part of Lao P.D.R. and that I need to see more. I’m sure she’s right, but I actually loved Vientiane. It has that Indochina vibe that actually makes you feel like a character from an old movie.

{outfit(s) post - Songkran}

I feel a little bit stupid trying to make any outfit posts when you've already seen every piece of clothing I own right now. But still I'm going to try.

A month ago Thailand celebrated Thai New Year. And it was unbelievable. If you've never been here during Songkran, you've missed a lot of fun (and water). Celebrations usually take 5 days, and during this time you better watch out - you can't make two steps out of your appartment without getting soaking wet. People will chase you with water guns and buckets full of (sometimes icy) water and trust me - you don't want to be wearing anything nice and expensive.

Chiang Mai old city is countored by a huge moat, so it's the place you want to avoid, if you don't want to get wet. Or a place you definitely need to visit, if you want to have fun, meet new people, shot them with your water gun and drink few cold Singhas.

So here are few pictures of Songkran celebrations in Chiang Mai - on it's calmer and crazier days.

One of the first days of Songkran - the city and all of the temples are nicely decorated with flags and ribbons. This is me on the Sunday walking street market, wearing:

Tank top - bought at the Sunday market (3 tank tops of a great quality for 100 baht - a little bit more then a dollar per one tank top)

Shoes - bought at Sunday market (super comfy, I'm on my second pair now. I think they cost about 2 dollars)

Chiang Mai University

During my time in Asia I've been to many temples, but the funniest thing is that I've never felt so much peace and inspiration in any of them, as I felt on the campus of Chiang Mai University. 

It's a beautiful place - lots of trees, lots of flowers, lots of places to sit down and study or just relax with a cup of coffee and a good book. Also it's very close to the beautiful Doi Sutep mountain. 

I've had a nice relaxed day there and looking forward to spending some more.

I'd definitely wear this dress on a date (maybe not on a first date)). I've bought it at a thrift store for something like 5 dollars and I think it was money well spent)

Lviv, day 3 - Lots of art and some angels

Our last day in Lviv was bittersweet. It was amazing, but it was the last.

We went to a few museums, had a great dinner at Bianco Rosso, went for a walk. And then there was the time to leave. 

We've had the best time in one of my favorite cities in the entire world. Thank you, Lviv, and see you next year!

Наш останній день у Львові був і веселим і сумним водночас. Він був класним, але він був останнім.

Ми сходили до кількох музеїв, пообідали у Bianco Rosso, погуляли. А потім був час їхати.

Ми чудово провели час у моєму найулюбленішому місті у світі. Дякую, місто Лева. Побачимось за рік!

Lviv, day 2 - The rooftops of Lviv

I'm not gonna bore you with too much pictures or stories. But it was a beautiful day - sunny, gorgeous, like the last kiss of summer.
We've climbed the the city hall tower and saw the whole city bathing in sunlight. It was amazing.

Сьогодні тут не буде багато фотографій чи тексту. Але день тоді був неймовірний - сонячний та дуже гарний, мов останній поцілунок літа.
Ми піднялись на верхівку ратуші і побачили все місто, залите сонцем. Це було казково.

Lviv , day 1 - guide tour

It's January and I'm stillposting pictures made in September. I need to start planning my blog posts better!
So Lviv. It's an amazing city, the romantic capital of Ukraine and second biggest tourist destination.
The weather in Kyiv was grey and rainy, but Lviv was warm and welcoming. After arriving and leaving our luggage in the rented flat, we went to have some breakfast. Oh, Lviv is also very famous with it's food, coffee and desserts. Actually it was a Ukrainian from Lviv who introduced coffee to Vienna and the rest of Europe, so everytime we visit Lviv, we drown all of our problems in coffee)))
And after the breakfast we went to tourist centre and found out that there was a free guide tour around the city starting in a few minutes. So we ran to get there in time)

Вже січень, а я й досі не показала всі фотографії з вересня. Треба якось краще планувати свої пости.
Тож Львів. Чудове місто, романтична столиця України, другий за кількістю туристів напрям в Україні. В Києві погода була сірою та похмурою, а у Львові в той час було ясне та привітне небо. Тож ми лишили речі у квартирі та пішли снідати. Хто ще не знає - Львів відомий смачною їжею, кавою та десертами. Власне, саме завдяки українцеві Юрію Кульчицькому кава потрапила до Відня та решти Європи, тож кожного разу, відвідуючи Львів, ми топимо наші проблеми у смачній каві. 
А після сніданку ми випадково дізнались, що за кілька хвилин починається безкоштовна піша екскурсія Львовом. І стрімголов побігли, аби не запізнитись.

Lithuania, day 7 - Sudie, Vilnius!

Here, in Ukraine, we say that leaving on a rainy day brings good fortune. We also say that if it rains when you leave a place, it means it cries for you. I so want it to be true.

It rained that day and leaving Vilnius broke my heart. I fell in love with the city in just one week. It's so cute and busy, and has so many great events. It also is so much smaller than Kyiv, so I felt so comfortable and peacefull there. I hope to return to Vilnius many and many times in the future.

В Україні кажуть, що їхати кудись у дощ - добра прикмета. А ще кажуть - якщо ти залишаєш якесь місце, коли дощить, це воно плаче за тобою. Мені чомусь дуже хочеться вірити, що так і є. 

У той день йшов дощ, і я ледь не плакала, залишаючи Вільнюс. Я закохалась у нього за цей тиждень. Це місто дуже миле та цікаве, тут відбувається стільки чудових подій щодня. Водночас воно набагато менше за Київ, тому мені там було дуже спокійно та затишно. Я сподіваюся повертатись до Вільнюса знову і знову.

Lithuania, day 6 - Dancing in the market square

Vilnius hosted two very cool events that Saturday - the annual bicycle marathon and the Renaissance fair. Of course we went to see both! We had to walk everywhere, because every road was occupied by bicycles, but I was quite okay with it - I love walking a lot.

Тієї суботи у Вільнюсі відбувалося дві класні події - щорічний веломарафон та середньовічний ярмарок. Звісно, що ми пішли подивитися на все! Нам довелося скрізь ходити пішки - всі вулиці були віддані велосипедистам -, але я була не проти - люблю ходити довго та багато.

I've packed outfits for each day of my journey, but then ended up mixing everything together - the weather got a bit cold, so I had to start layering. I was really happy I took my favorite ankle boots with me.

Я спакувала вбрання на кожен день мандрівки, але погода зіпсувалась і мені довелося міксувати всього потрошку, аби не змерзнути. Я була дуже рада, що захопила з собою чобітки.

Lithuania, day 5 - Europos Parkas

Europos Parkas or the Park of Europe is the open-air modern art museum, situated in the forrest near Vilnius. It's a great, interesting and a bit creepy place)))
We went there in the morning, there were like only two more groups there, and I'm not gonna lie - it was a bit scary. Like a city, abandoned by aliens, with all of their weird homes, playgrounds and statues.

Europos Parkas або Парк Європи - це музей сучасного мистецтва під відкритим небом, що займає 5 гектарів лісу під Вільнюсом. Це чудове, дуже цікаве та трошки страшне місце)))
Ми поїхали туди вранці, крім нас там було десь ще дві групи, тому не брехатиму - мені там було страшно. Як у покинутому інопланетянами місті, що складається з дивних будинків, дитячих майданчиків та статуй.

Scarf - I've bought it at Drogas in Vilnius and lost it when was returning back to Kyiv. Still sad about it - I liked it so much!

Lithuania, day 4 - Trakai

On my fourth day in Lithuania we decided to go to Trakai. Trakai is one of the main tourist attractions of Lithuania - it's a small cute town with a great beautiful castle. It's just a 30 ride from Vilnius.

На мій четвертий день у Литві ми вирішили поїхати у Тракай. Тракай - она з найбільших туристичних скарбничок Литви. це невеличке миле містечко, де розташований чудовий замок. І він лише за 30 хвилин від Вільнюса.

Lithuania, day 3 fashion extra - 'From mini to maxi' exibition

As I wrote, on the third day in Vilnius I've had a chance to visit the most wonderful exibition - Alexandre Vassiliev's collection 'From mini to maxi'. It shows the evolution of fashion in reverse - from 60th to 20th to XIX century.

All of the dresses are authentic and in perfect vintage condition - all of the sequins, beads and lace.

I hope you'll excuse me the quality of some photos - the  flash wasn't allowed.

Як я вже казала, у Вільнюсі я мала змогу відвідати чудову виставку - колекцію Олександра Васильєва "Від міні до максі". Ходячи залами можна відчути еволюцію моди у зворотньому напрямку - від 60-х до 20-х до ХІХ сторіччя.

Всі сукні у чудовому вінтажному стані - пайєтки, бісерне шиття, мереживо. 

Пробачте мені якість деяких фотографій - знімати зі спалахом було заборонено.

Lithuania, day 3 - Vilnius, Saint Anne's, Uzupis

On the third day we walked around Vilnius some more. There was lot's of sunshine, some rain, I've broken a bottle of perfume on the street - everything was perfect.

На третій день ми знову гуляли Вільнюсом. Було багато сонця, трохи дощу, я розбила пляшечку парфумів на вулиці - чудовий день)

Lithuania, day 2 - Kaunas

The next day was a bit colder, so I was freezing the whole trip to Kaunas. But other then that the day went great))

Lithuania, day 1 - First time at Vilnius

So I finally got to my Lithuanian photos) Life is crazy right now, I'm too busy and too overwhelmed with my current job, so it's really hard to find time to blog constantly. I'm trying so very hard)
Today I want to tell you about the first of the seven days I've spent in Lithuania in August.
As I've already told you, I went there to visit a dear friend of mine. I've spent seven days with her and her family and then we went to Kyiv together to continue our vacations - we've spent four days in Kyiv and then three days in Lviv. I have lots of pictures, and I hope I'll manage to find time and tell you all about my trips.

В мене нарешті дійшли руки до фотографій з Литви. Моє життя зараз дуже непросте через кількість дурної роботи, тому доволі важко знайти час для постійних записів. Але я дуже стараюсь.
Сьогодні я хочу розповісти про перший з семи днів, які я провела у Литві в серпні. 
Як я вже казала, я їхала туди в гості до подруги. Я провела сім днів з нею та її родиною, а потім ми вдвох вирушили до Києва, де на нас чекало продовження канікул - чотири дні у Києві та ще три у Львові. У мене є тонна фотографій, тому я дуже хочу знайти час та розповісти вам про свою подорож.

I went to Lithuanis by bus - it's 12 hour ride to get from Kyiv to Vilnius, and it's much cheaper then going by plane. God, I hate spending night at a bus!))) But well, girl has to save some money for more interesting stuff)

До Литви я їхала автобусом. Їхати з Києва до Вільнюса 12 годин, це набагато дешевше, ніж літак, але господи, як же я ненавиджу їздити автобусом! Але іноді треба економити, аби вистачило грошей на інші приємні речі.

So I came to Vilnius at 8 in the morning, and was a bit too tired. My frien met me at the bus station and took me to her home, where I had a chance to shower, change clothes, have some coffee and start feeling human again. And then we went to explore the city.

Тож до Вільнюса я дісталась о восьмій ранку, і була дуже втомлена. Моя подруга зустріла мене на станції і відвезла до себе додому, де я прийняла душ, перевдягалась, випила чаю і знову почала почуватись людиною. А потім ми вирушили підкорювати місто))
